If you are not familiar with the brand of cat treats called “Temptations”, congratulations, you have not introduced your cat to crack. Drug references aside, I have not met one cat that didn’t like these treats. I have gotten every flavor at least once for my cats and they go nuts for them. A few weeks ago I saw they had the Tumblers at Walmart online and gave them a try. These are my thoughts…
Initially, I thought to myself “Well, they are charging more for less, and they basically look like miniature dog food pebbles.” and almost didn’t get them. I knew my cats LOVED temptations so I got a bad for starts. I normally buy the big 14 oz containers. If you never seen these, find where they carry them near you or shop online. You save money and the container holds up better than the bag!
Anyways, I ordered the Chicken & Turkey variety pack. They also have Salmon & Tuna, but as mentioned in several other posts, I try to keep seafood to a minimum. I mean, when was the last time you saw a domestic cat catching fish and eating them? Also, chicken and turkey are leaner meats and cleaner meats compared to seafood or beef varieties.
I got them in the mail and nearly threw them out by mistake! I ordered them through Walmart and actually forgot I did. If you do big orders, keep in mind they may toss them in the box and will be lost under the papers because they are so light! Good thing I save my receipts from all my online orders.
Soon as the cats saw the bag, they wouldn’t leave me alone. I opened them up and right away I noticed the smell. They are a lot stronger in smell then the traditional ones. They also do not have the soft center, in case you were wondering. My older cat’s sight isn’t so great so I have him a few and he ate them down like a pig. I then tossed some, as suggested, to my other cat and he went NUTS! I was laughing hysterically. He would jump in mid-air trying to catch them. He would chase them if he missed. When they label the treats as “Play”, they mean it!
My cats love them and I think they may enjoy the taste more than the tradition soft centered ones. I am sold on them because they allow me to get my cats exercising and experiencing hunting at the same time. This is a win win here people! The older cat will chase them when he sees them as well which is great. He is not very active and slightly a bit overweight so they benefit him a lot.
