If you are a fan of Nintendo, this may be the DIY cat furniture idea you’ve been looking for! This is an easy project for anyone to do that doesn’t cost very much. If your cat is named after any Mario character, this cat perch is a must for your kitty’s castle!
The design was made by a man with the online name ‘WesWoodward’ and his inspiration comes from a crafty unconventional cat furniture shop named ‘CatastrophiCreations’. His design was based on the “Mario Cat Complex” and as you can see from the pictures, he did a fantastic job at replicating it! He made it for a friend’s cat which from the video and pictures clearly gets a kick out of it! These kind of wall-mounted perches are great for any active cats and they greatly support the natural instinct to be up high, looking down. That is where they feel safest.

The Building Process
Below you can see the process of the Nintendo cat perch coming to life!
While there are no written instructions, with a bit of creativity and eye-balling, you can easily recreate Wes’ version for your cat. You will need plastic flower pots, wood, some carpet, rope, paint, glue and your imagination! If you decide to make one, I would base it on your cat’s own size as some cats will need more space than others.
